One of the new companies set up in Bolton in the past few years is eSAY Solutions. The firm is now based at 95-97 St. George's Road, Bolton, but started in the spare room of a house in Greenland Road, Great Lever, after its three directors left their jobs at Westhoughton IT Group Ascribe in 2001.

eSAY Solutions Ltd. is a company based in Bolton that specialises in writing custom-built software that makes routine business processes more efficient. Not only do they write the code but they also consult with companies to identify what the problem is that needs solving. The company was formally set up on 6th April 2001 by three directors, Dr. Moneeb Awan, Graham Stanley and Colin Yates. All had worked together at another software company, had got on well together and decided to set up on their own.

A Bolton-based software specialist is establishing a research and development centre in South Africa. The firm, eSAY Solutions Ltd, on St. George's Road, has already formed two commercial partnerships in South Africa, and is the first overseas company to base their new centre in the country's leading technology park in the capital city of Pretoria.
